Resolutions Do Not Work, But Decision #1 Does

I am not a fan of resolutions since they are hard to maintain and easy to give up. According to researchers from Edith Cowan University, two in three (67%) people give up on their resolutions by January 31!

What do we do after we break a resolution? We usually beat ourselves up for a bit and give up on the activity. What we need to do is dust ourselves off and start anew.

Decision 1: The Responsible Decision |
The Buck Stops Here

The Responsible Decision is the first decision that David Ponder is given in The Traveler's Gift.

We need to take responsibility for our decisions. We can't always make the right decision, but we can make a decision and then make it right.

Q1 Books

For the first three months of 2023, I want to share 3-4 excellent books with you.

Beginning Wednesday, January 4, 2023, I will share two books by Andy Andrews, The Traveler's Gift and The Seven Decisions: Understanding the Keys to Personal Success.

The first book is The Traveler's Gift.

"Forty-six-year-old David Ponder feels like a total failure. Once a high-flying executive in a Fortune 500 company, he now works a part-time, minimum wage job and struggles to support his family. Suddenly an even greater crisis hits: his daughter becomes ill, and he can’t even afford to get her the medical help she needs. When David’s car skids on an icy road, he wonders if he even cares to survive the crash."

What happens next is that David is given the gift of traveling through time, meeting 7 people that provide him with the Seven Decisions for success that can turn any life around, no matter how hopeless a situation seems.

I will also incorporate some of the questions and exercises from The Seven Decisions.

This second book allows us to move beyond a well-written story and into transforming our lives.

If you don't wish to buy the books, you can check them out from your local library or listen to them via apps like Hoopla Digital.
